Transcript:

MEMORANDUM: RESPONSE TO MADIGAN HALL PROPOSAL 1901.1: FRANCHISE CAP AMENDMENT

In response to the posting of Proposal 1901.1 at Madigan Hall, for review preceding vote in general assembly at the 1901 Winter Meetings, let the following be known:

The Player’s Union accepts the salary cap, as expressed in the board-approved Proposal 1901.1, set at $90,000 per annum.

Furthermore, the Player’s Union demands the passage of the Reserve Arbitration Board’s baseline salary at an amount no less than $4,377, or the total salary cap divided by the Active Roster size; whichever sum is larger.

Franchises and General Managers who attempt to reduce or undermine this minimum can expect the full strike of their unionized ballplayers from the First of March, 1902, until compliance with the Union’s demands.

Signed,

THOMAS W. HERSHEY

PRESIDENT, LEGACY BASEBALL LEAGUE PLAYERS UNION
