Opposites Attract?

Posted on January 25, 2025January 25, 2025 by Scott Thomas

NEW YORK CITY: Yesterday, New York Kings Owner and CEO Alexander Bingley announced the hiring of Scott Thomas as the team’s new general manager.

Bingley continued.

“We are excited with the scouting and player development experience that Scott brings to the organization.”

“Fans know the high expectations that I demand for the Kings: Win today. Win tomorrow. Winning is the only acceptable outcome.”

Thomas’ soft-spoken and friendly persona stands in stark contrast to the boisterous and sometimes controversial Bingley. The new GM’s detectable Southern drawl and use of the colloquialism “y’all” have already resulted in quizzical stares from Gotham City residents.

Are these differing personalities a harbinger for future organizational conflict?

Thomas doesn’t think so.

“Mr. Bingley loves the Kings and the city. He knows the most enjoyable team to cheer for is the victorious one. Just because our demeanors differ, we still share the same goal: Bring home the organization’s first Legacy Cup.”

“Besides, opposites attract, right?”

That old adage may apply to courtship, but time will tell if the Bingley and Thomas baseball relationship is a recipe for success.

In the meantime, Bingley treated Thomas and a group of reporters to delicious nickel hotdogs at Nathan Handwerker’s newly opened cart in Coney Island.

Perhaps Nathan is on to something profitable selling his special recipe hot dogs, just as Bingley is with the hiring of Thomas and the future of Kings’ baseball.
